Evidence Based Practice (EBP) Requirement - Michigan Athletic Trainers Society (MATS)

Evidence Based Practice (EBP) Requirement

The EBP continuing education category was developed to help ATs infuse evidence into clinical decision making for their patients. To be eligible for credit, programs must be approved by the BOC in the EBP category. You can find BOC Approved EBP Programs on the BOC website. Approved programs are updated monthly.

If you are one of those who are still confused about EBP and what EBP is after reading through our website, we recommend you begin with an EBP Foundations course through NATA. NATA has six approved foundations courses and these can be found on our website in the BOC Approved Continuing Education Opportunities section.

ATs must complete the following by December 31, 2015:

  • ATs with 50 CEUs due must complete at least 10 EBP CEUs
  • ATs with 25 CEUs due must complete at least 5 EBP CEUS
